Phone Bank This Weekend

Saturday August 28th from 9am-9pm August 28th, the North Carolina GOP will be phone banking for our great candidates in Durham County. Do you have a spare hour or two on August 28th? Our system will enable us to contact Republican supporters throughout Durham County and will ensure higher turnout for our November elections.

If you have been waiting to get involved the time IS NOW! If you want to make a difference this election season, come out and meet the candidates and help them pick up some votes. If you plan to come, please contact Mike Rusher at rusher@ncgop.org.

The phonebank is located in the lower level of the NCGOP Headquarters, Hillsborough St., Raleigh, (across from the Velvet Cloak Inn).

Why vote GERBER for NC Senate District 18?
I will propose, support and vote for legislation that:
•Is consistent with The United States and North Carolina Constitutions;
•Permanently caps state spending at 5% of the state’s private sector economy;
•Allows NC citizens to opt out of nationalized healthcare requirements;
•Increases education options for all students regardless of income;
•Limits the state’s use of eminent domain and bans forced annexation.

As a lifelong resident of Northern Durham County I have seen many changes over the course of my lifetime. I have become familiar with people from all walks of life and I am proud to be associated with them.

I have decided to campaign for NC House District 30 for several reasons. First and foremost, I believe that the people of District 30 deserve a choice in who represents them on the issues that are so important to each of us, as well as, our families. North Carolina is facing the same problems that other states are experiencing and these problems must be addressed with the voters in mind. The economy, jobs, and local issues that directly pertain to District 30 will be my primary focus and top priority if I am fortunate enough to be elected.

I believe in complete voter representation and I will listen to those that elect me. I am a fiscal conservative who believes that people deserve to keep more of what they earn to provide for their families. We must send a message that too much spending will not be tolerated by the voters, especially in a down economy. We have to live by a budget, and so should the NC Legislature in Raleigh.

I BELIEVE the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person’s dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.

I BELIEVE in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability.

I BELIEVE free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.

I BELIEVE government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.

I BELIEVE the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations, and that the best government is that which governs least.

I BELIEVE the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government closest to the people.

I BELIEVE Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.

I BELIEVE Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.

FINALLY, I believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.
