We Can Defeat the Tax Increases

As you know, this year’s ballot has two tax referendums.  You also know where the Durham Republican Party stands on these initiatives.  (In case you need a reminder, click here for our information sheets.)

However, did you know that as of the end of the early voting period only 5,139 votes had been cast?  This represents a turnout of 3.2%. If the Durham Republicans turn out on Tuesday, we can defeat these two tax increases!  So if you haven’t voted yet, please make every effort to get to the polls on Tuesday. … And reach out to a friend or two and encourage them to do the same.

The conservative movement in Durham is growing.  We are standing up to the local liberal left and holding them accountable.  Follow this link for an example of how your Durham Republican Party is fighting for you.  As you’ll see in the video, we’ve caught both the City of Durham and Durham Public School system breaking the law.

It was the Durham Republican Party that brought these violations to light.  We thank the John Locke Foundation for their efforts to help hold our local government accountable.

You may have also seen me on WRAL-TV, News 14 Carolina, UNC-TV’s Black Issues Forum; or heard me on NPR or the Bill LuMaye show on WPTF 680 am.

However, let me assure you, it’s not just me.  I’m just the visible face (or the audible voice).  The entire Durham Republican Party Executive Committee is fighting hard, each individual fulfilling their individual role.  We are gaining momentum.  We are also starting to see the tides begin to change.

In order to restore limited and fiscally responsible government to Durham it is going to be a long battle.  Rest assured that we have a long term vision and we are implementing the steps necessary in order to realize our long term vision.

One of the next steps is to start preparing candidates.  So, if you think you may be interested in running for local office – at any point, not necessarily in 2012 – then please get in touh with me.  Durham needs you!
