2012 County Convention
On Saturday, March 17 the Durham County Republican Party held its annual convention.
The convention began with precinct meetings.
After the precinct business, candidates for office were each given 3 minutes to explain why we should choose them. We also had numerous opportunities to chat with candidates before and after the convention.
The candidates were followed by the debate over a resolution
supporting Amendment 1 to the North Carolina Constitution.
The debate was spirited but very friendly. Durham County Republicans
rose to voice their support or opposition to this measure.
The resolution passed on a voice vote. The convention also passed two other resolutions, one supporting a water line extension in Rougemont, the other opposing the Downtown Durham Business Improvement District.
