The 2012 Durham County Republican convention will be held March 17.  Registration begins 9:00 AM and ends at 9:50 AM for same day registration. Register online here. Precinct meetings will start at 10:00 AM.

Rob Christensen, N&O reporter and author of The Paradox of Tar Heel Politics: the Personalities, Elections, and Events that Shaped Modern North Carolina, will discuss the evolution of North Carolina politics and how the state has become the most politically competitve state in the South.

I hope we can move to a more civil discourse on the merits of the proposed voter photo id law. In that hope, I offer the following:

The South Carolina voter id law being challenged by the Obama Justice Department is the product of a bi-partisan task force.
